When it comes to writing love songs, inspiration is everywhere. We will never have a shortage of love songs from the artists we love.
What are the great love songs every child should know?
They are the love songs that are SINGABLE, MEMORABLE, and ENDEARING!
You know a song is singable and memorable when it starts playing again and again in your head, or you can't stop singing it out loud after you hear it.
You know a song has endeared itself to you when you find yourself coming back to it time and again with the ones you love.
All of the songs below hold these qualities in my household. They are all singable, memorable and endearing.
We may be a bit partial to number five, for obvious reasons, but we've heard that it has become a family favorite around Valentine's Day for many of you as well. :-)
Every child should know these five love songs because they are easy to sing and easy to share with the ones you love!
1. Bushel and a Peck - Doris Day from the Musical "Guys and Dolls"
2. You are My Sunshine by Jimmie Davis (1940), Performed here by Martha Bean
3. I Will (Love You Forever) by The Beatles, Performed and Arranged here by JJ Heller
4. L-O-V-E - by Nat King Cole
5. Got a Little Love - by Kathryn Brunner
Sometimes all it takes is a little love song to fill our hearts with joy as we resonate with the words and melodies we hear.
I hope these songs will bring some love your way today! Sing them with your little LOVE today! How fun to hear your child sing them right back to you!
